What should Razorback baseball change this offseason?

Now that Arkansas baseball has officially ended its 2024 season, it’s time to look at what changes Razorback head coach Dave Van Horn needs to make this offseason.

The majority of Hog fans will simply point to hitting coach Nate Thompson and say, “Replace him and all is well.” But it’s not that simple. It never is when it comes to high-level team sports in college.

I discussed this a lot more in-depth on my show Monday. You can watch the entire segment below.

  1. I agree on the need for new batting coach. And yes, replacing one coach is no panacea. This has been happening for the last few years -postseason heartaches and blues! I am inclined to a view that the University needs to replace Coach Van Horn. He is burnt out! We need new blood! A rising young star in college baseball who also brings the experience of assisting a head coach with a winning record in season and postseason! One who is highly motivated! Some charisma would be an invaluable asset! So, jus’ sayin’

    1. I tend to agree. Coach Van Horn has had a brilliant coaching careers. However, I am inclined to the view that his best coaching years are spent. Arkansas needs a new head coach with the experience of Van Horn, but with a new vision, enthusiasm and optimism! Jus’ sayin what many are thinking.
