Report: Jonas Aidoo will withdraw from NBA Draft, play for Hogs in ’24-25

Jonas Aidoo will withdraw from the 2024 NBA Draft, according to a Friday afternoon report.

In a post to his X account, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported Aidoo will suit up for Arkansas in 2024-25. The former Tennessee forward pledged to the Razorbacks on April 29.

Aidoo, who played the last three seasons for Rick Barnes and the Volunteers, is part of an Arkansas transfer portal class that ranks No. 1 in the country, per 247 Sports. First-year Razorbacks head coach John Calipari’s class also includes forward Zvonimir Ivisic and wing Adou Thiero of Kentucky, and former Florida Atlantic guard Johnell Davis.

Aidoo put together his best season in 2023-24, averaging career highs in scoring (11.4), field goal percentage (51.5%), rebounds (7.3), blocks (1.8) and assists (1.0). He started all 36 games for Tennessee, which made a run to the Elite Eight in March.

“If Calipari wants to continue to play spread out the way [Kentucky] had so much success offensively last year,” SEC Network analyst Dane Bradshaw told Natty State Sports, “I don’t think Aidoo is going to be a hinderance to that. I think they can have the best of all worlds.”

At the time of his commitment to Arkansas, Aidoo was considered the No. 4 available player in the transfer portal, according to On3.com.
