Arkansas on Tuesday officially announced the hiring of Kolby Smith as its running backs coach.
The news was first reported last Saturday by Brandon Marcello of 247 Sports. Kolby Smith replaces former Razorbacks tailbacks coach Jimmy Smith, who last week accepted the same position at TCU.
Kolby Smith was most recently an offensive assistant with the Miami Dolphins and let go in January.

A graduate assistant at Arkansas in 2012, Smith served as now-Razorbacks offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino’s running backs coach at Western Kentucky (2013) and Louisville (2014-18). Before joining the Dolphins, Smith spent one season coaching running backs at Rutgers.
Smith played college football at Louisville and was a fifth-round draft pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2007. He also spent time with the Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars.
