Razorback football spring practice notes: March 28

The Arkansas football team returned to practice Thursday morning for its second workout since spring break.

The Razorbacks split time between the indoor facility and the grass and turf fields outside Walker Pavilion. Here are some notes and observations from the practice:

• Personnel notes: Wide receiver Andrew Armstrong tweaked his knee during the 1-on-1 period and did not jump back in the action. He was later seen walking around with an ice pack on the knee.

Tight end Ty Washington remained in a green no-contact jersey. When the team moved outside with action on the turf field, Washington over and over again jogged sideline to sideline on the grass field with a football in hand.

Wide receiver Bryce Stephens was on a stationary bike again, and defensive back Dylan Hasz was inactive.

• While indoors, offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino and offensive line coach Eric Mateos led a red zone drill in which screens to running backs and tight ends were the focus. Petrino was technical and relayed to players exactly what he wanted, and made units redo reps several times.

• During a special teams period, players who worked at kickoff return were Isaac TeSlaa, Lorando Johnson, CJ Brown, Jaylon Braxton and Isaiah Sategna. Braxton and Sategna also worked at punt return.

• Athletic director Hunter Yurachek attended practice for 20-30 minutes.

  • Standout plays in 1-on-1s: Taylen Green threw a touchdown pass to Sategna; Green also completed nice passes to Davion Dozier and Brown; KJ Jackson hit Sategna for another big gain; and Luke Hasz made a contested catch over the middle with Johnson in tight coverage.
  • 7-on-7 quarterback stats:

– Green: 9/13 w/ TD to Brown

– Jacolby Criswell: 4/7 w/ TD to Isaiah Augustave

– Malachi Singleton: 5/8 w/ an INT

– Jackson: 4/6

– Defensive players with pass breakups in 7-on-7: Hudson Clark (2), Jaheim Singletary, Xavian Sorey, Braxton, Tevis Metcalf, Kee’yon Stewart and Jaden Allen.
