Razorback football spring practice notes: April 6

Arkansas’ football team practiced inside Razorback Stadium on Saturday morning for roughly two hours.

The Razorbacks scrimmaged a bit, worked on various situations, 7-on-7 and more. Here are some notes and observations from the day:

• Personnel-wise, wide receivers Andrew Armstrong, Jaedon Wilson and Bryce Stephens were active during position drills but did not take part in team work. I did not spot Tyrone Broden during the practice.

Tight end Ty Washington and running back Rashod Dubinion were in green no-contact jerseys. Dubinion was involved in the Fastball Start period, then the two jogged around the field several times for conditioning. Armstrong and Wilson did the same.

• Former Arkansas receiver Joe Adams was present at practice and interacting with players on the sideline throughout.

• During a special teams period, Isaiah Sategna and Jaylon Braxton worked at punt return, and the punters were, in order, Devin Bale, Max Fletcher and Sam Dubwig. Punting with his heels at the back of the end zone, Bale hit a 59- or 60-yard punt.

• In the first bit of team action, Taylen Green was intercepted by Braxton, and KJ Jackson had a 32-yard completion and another pass for 13 yards. On the ground, Ja’Quinden Jackson had a 20-yard carry and Dominique Johnson rushed for 18 yards on a touch.

Malachi Singleton found Isaiah Augustave on a short pass then the back turned on the speed and raced down the home sideline for a touchdown.

• During 7-on-7, Green was 5 of 7, Jacolby Criswell was 3 of 3, Singleton was 4 of 4, and KJ Jackson was 1 of 2.

Braylen Russell caught a pass from Green for a big gain on a wheel route; Sategna turned a short pass from Green into a big gain after making a couple of moves; Hudson Clark nearly picked off Green over the middle; KJ Jackson hit Jordan Anthony and he showed off his speed for a big gain after the catch; and Brad Spence nearly picked off Green on a throw over the middle of the field.

• In the “move the field” segment of practice, Nico Davillier nearly picked off Green on a throw near the visitors sideline; and Augustave had a 52-yard touchdown catch on a screen pass from Criswell.

• During red zone work, Johnson, Ja’Quinden Jackson and Isaac TeSlaa had touchdowns, and Miguel Michell intercepted a pass in the end zone.
