Razorback football spring practice notes: April 2

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas’ football team on Tuesday returned to practice for the first time since last Saturday’s scrimmage in Razorback Stadium.

The team primarily worked indoors given the weather, but it briefly went to the fields outside Walker Pavilion for a period or two.

Here are a handful of notes and observations from Arkansas’ morning practice, the ninth of the spring:

• Running back Rashod Dubinion and tight end Ty Washington were in green no-contact jerseys. Washington continues to work his way back from the shoulder injury that prematurely ended his 2023 season. It’s not clear what is ailing Dubinion.

Wide receiver Andrew Armstrong, who did not take part in Saturday’s scrimmage work, was active in non-contact segments of practice. He was far from full-go. He appeared to tweak his knee during a practice last week. Wide receiver Jaedon Wilson did not take part in Tuesday’s practice.

• Bentonville High School football coach Jody Grant was present. He coached freshman receiver CJ Brown, who was a standout with the Tigers and is having a nice spring.

• During some team work, safety Jayden Johnson came away with an interception, and defensive back Aidan McCowan picked off a pass when the offense was backed up against the goal line.

• Quarterback passing stats during 7-on-7:

– Taylen Green — 10/12
– Jacolby Criswell — 6/8
– Malachi Singleton — 6/8
– KJ Jackson — 3/6

• The Razorbacks closed Tuesday’s practice with a late-clock situational period. The offense, a couple of times, moved the ball down the field and got in field goal range. Kickers missed three straight field goals to end the day.
