Give this man a key to the city of Fayetteville. He should never have to pay for a single drink at Tin Roof on Dickson Street.
The newest Arkansas football commit is exactly what this country is all about: a dude who tried his hand at one professional sport until he got into his late 20s only to go back to college and play a completely different sport.
Who among us hasn’t thought about doing exactly what Monte Harrison is doing? Sitting around in our late 20s/early 30s, pondering our life decisions, wondering what it would be like if we could go back in time and play ball in the SEC.
This is not something that’s completely out of the ordinary either. Most notably we have seen guys like Brandon Weeden play pro baseball only to go back to college football; a man amongst boys who can teach the young minds a thing or two about life inside the huddle.
Imagine any of us doing this in our older age, showing these kids what it was like to play (watch) SEC football back in our day, when running backs had 30-plus carries per game and targeting was just something you did in your AC130 on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on your XBox 360.
I know he’s technically a walk-on, but I don’t care. I am rooting for Monte to work his way up the depth chart and catch the game-winning touchdown this season against Texas.
We all have thought it, this man is living it. Woo Pig, Monte Harrison, and God speed.
