Arkansas coach John Calipari has hired his son to his on-court staff.
Brad Calipari, 27, will serve in an assistant coach and director of on-court player development role for the Razorbacks.
“Thankful for this opportunity and excited to be joining the family!” Brad Calipari wrote in a post to his Instagram account.
He was the director of on-court player development at Vanderbilt last season under Jerry Stackhouse. The former NBA standout was relieved of his duties shortly after Arkansas eliminated the Commodores at the SEC Tournament in March.

Brad Calipari played for the Wildcats from 2016-18 and was a part of a Sweet 16 and Elite Eight run. He closed his college career at Detroit Mercy, where he averaged 6.1 points on 38.1% shooting and 1.1 rebounds.
He scored in double figures 6 times in 2019-20 with a career-high of 20 points against Toledo. Brad Calipari played in 27 games that season and started 6, then played in just 6 games in 2020-21.
According to Arkansas’ official website, John Calipari’s on-court staff includes Brad Calipari, associate head coaches Kenny Payne and Chin Coleman, and assistant coaches/recruiting coordinators Chuck Martin and Ronnie Brewer.
