Arkansas basketball incoming freshman signee Jalen Shelley has requested a release from his National Letter of Intent with the Razorbacks and will reopen his recruitment.
The news comes on the heels of Eric Musselman departing Fayetteville for the head coaching position at USC.
Shelley was the first commitment in the 2024 high school class for the Hoop Hogs, announcing his pledge to Arkansas on Sept. 11 over a list of finalists that included Louisville, Marquette, Ohio State, LSU, Colorado, Houston and Texas A&M.
The 6-8 wing out of Frisco (Texas) spent his senior season at Link Academy in Branson (Mo.).
According to On3.com, Shelley is a four-star prospect and the No. 57 overall player in the 2024 class.
