Brazile out vs. UK, Davis steps away from program

Arkansas will be without a pair of key pieces in guard Devo Davis and forward Trevon Brazile against No. 6 Kentucky.

Brazile left Wednesday’s road loss to Ole Miss with what was described as knee soreness. He checked out for the final time with less than one minute left in the first half then did not play after halftime.

The redshirt sophomore is third on the team in scoring in conference play at 6.8 points on 37.1% shooting, and he leads the way at 5.8 rebounds per game.

“He hadn’t been able to practice since our last game [at Ole Miss],” Eric Musselman said on Arkansas’ pregame radio show. “Certainly somebody’s got to step up in TB’s absence.”

Davis, a senior from Jacksonville, has stepped away from the program, according to a release prior to tipoff Saturday.

He played 7:30 in Arkansas’ loss to the Rebels, missed his lone shot from the field and did not score.

On the Kentucky side, freshman guard Rob Dillingham will not play because of a stomach virus. He is averaging 13.9 points and 3.8 assists this season.

  1. Twice Devo has “stepped away” even though Muss has said “he’s like a son to me.” I don’t particularly like the look and I don’t think it’s going to advance his career. Do the people paying him NIL step away from him too? What is going on with Devo?
