Arkansas basketball and head coach John Calipari are set to host former Oklahoma State big man Brandon Garrison for a visit beginning on Sunday, sources confirm.
The 6-11, 245-pound Oklahoma City native is the No. 16 overall transfer and No. 5 center in the portal according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He has also taken visits to Oklahoma and Texas since announcing his intentions to enter the portal the day it opened on March 18.
Garrison averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 15 blocks in 22.6 minutes per game as a full-time starter as a true freshman for the Cowboys in 2023-24. He shot an efficient 57.2% from the field and connected at a 64.8% clip from the charity stripe.
The talented young forward notched his first career double-double with an 11-point, 10-rebound effort against South Carolina State on New Year’s Eve and had a number of eye-popping performances in his debut season in the Big 12.
Garrison went for 20 points on a perfect 7-for-7 shooting with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks versus Baylor on Jan. 6, had 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in a win over West Virginia on Jan. 27 and finished with a career-best 21 points in an upset-victory against BYU on Feb. 17.
A decorated prospect out of Del City (Okla.) High School Garrison was a 2023 McDonald’s All-American and won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2022 FIBA U18 Americas in Mexico.
Garrison is the next in a wave of visitors for Calipari and the Razorbacks this week that includes newly-committed Karter Knox, talented Class of 2024 duo Boogie Fland and Billy Richmond as well as Tennessee forward Jonas Aidoo.
