The offseason can be a wild time, but we’re here to keep you updated on all the latest movement with the Arkansas Baseball roster.
Of course, the information below is subject to plenty of change, so we’ll have the many moves reflected and updated as the offseason plays out. The roster won’t be finalized until the actual beginning of the 2025 season when the Razorbacks will turn in a 35-man playing roster. Teams typically enter the fall with much more than 35 players, sometimes even up over 50, before several players transfer elsewhere at the semester break.
For now, with the MLB Draft and a whirlwind transfer portal period still looming, each potential player on the 2025 roster falls into one of the following categories. Here’s a look at where things stand as of today.
Incoming Transfers
- INF Kuhio Aloy (BYU)
- OF Charles Davalan (FGCU)
The Razorbacks’ most recent pickup in the transfer portal is Florida Gulf Coast transfer Charles Davalan, who split his time between second base and right field as a freshman in 2024. All indications are that he is being recruited as an outfielder.
Davalan will be eligible for the 2025 MLB Draft next summer as a sophomore, and he’s generated quite a bit of interest from professional teams. During his freshman season in 2024, Davalan hit .288 with a strong .413 on-base percentage and a .514 slugging percentage with 10 home runs and 13 stolen bases.
JUCO Transfers (Draft-Eligible)
- INF Brent Iredale (New Mexico JC)
- OF Justin Thomas (Florida Southwestern College)
- INF Carson Schrack (Coffeyville)
Iredale presents a considerable draft risk after putting together a monster season (.441, 25 HR) at New Mexico Junior College, but both he and Thomas (.393, 14 HR, 35 SB) have the chance to make a real impact if they end up making it to campus at Arkansas.
Returning Position Players
- INF Nolan Souza
- INF Wehiwa Aloy
- INF/OF Jayson Jones
- INF Reese Robinett
- INF/OF Ty Waid
- C Ryder Helfrick
- OF Kade Smith
Of course, every single player listed above has the option of hitting the transfer portal, but this is the list of guys who are not draft-eligible and have eligibility remaining on the roster.
Returning Pitchers
- RHP Jaewoo Cho
- RHP Gabe Gaeckle
- RHP Tate McGuire
- LHP Hunter Dietz
- RHP Diego Ramos
- LHP Parker Coil
- LHP Colin Fisher
- LHP Tucker Holland
- RHP Ben Bybee
- RHP Gage Wood
- RHP Christian Foutch
- RHP Cooper Dosssett
- LHP Jack Smith
- RHP Josh Hyneman
- LHP Adam Hachman
Same for this group, though there will be a lot more movement here with more guys to sort through. Not everyone on this list *will* return, but everyone above has eligibility and is slated to be on the team until further notice.
Draft-Eligible Potential Returners – Position Players
- OF Kendall Diggs
- C Hudson White
- INF Peyton Stovall
- OF Will Edmunson
Of this group, Stovall and White are the easiest to figure out. Both will likely be drafted and will be expected to sign with an MLB team unless something weird happens. Edmunson is unlikely to be drafted, and the jury remains out on what Diggs’ prospects will be like after battling injury as a junior.
Draft-Eligible Potential Returners – Pitchers
- LHP Mason Molina
- RHP Brady Tygart
- RHP Dylan Carter
- LHP Hagen Smith
- RHP Jake Faherty
- RHP Will McEntire
You can almost count on this entire group to *not* return, though Carter is probably the most likely to return for his final season of eligibility. McEntire is a unique case as someone who was in college during the 2020 season (therefore has a COVID season), and he redshirted in 2021, which gives him a season to work with if he chooses. The rest of the guys listed above will be expected to get drafted and sign.
Incoming Freshman Class (All Draft-Eligible)
- RHP Tag Andrews
- C Zane Becker
- RHP Kel Busby
- OF Brenton Clark
- RHP Eli Crecelius
- RHP Lance Davis
- RHP Steele Eaves
- LHP Jackson Farrell
- RHP Ross Felder
- INF Gabe Fraser
- LHP Cole Gibler
- OF Sam Lee
- INF Tyson Lewis
- OF Eli Lovich
- RHP Wade Mountz
- RHP Carson Wiggins
- C Carson Willis
Every player listed above is eligible during the upcoming MLB Draft in July, so it’s not a foregone conclusion that all of them will be on campus this fall, but the Hogs should not face as much draft risk this time around as they did a year ago with the nation’s #1 class. This year’s group is ranked 18th nationally, according to Perfect Game.
